Made for a tafe class. We had to choose two 'truisms' and make works 'inspired' by these truisms. I strongly disslike Jenny Holzer's work but still managed to find a couple of acceptable statements to use.
This is "The world operates according to discoverable laws."
I wanted to make something that used vector in a slightly different way to what I have so far, being slightly cartoony, but very flat, illustration. I also wanted to use a LOT of texture. I think I satisfied these goals. I originally wanted to do more with the works but lost interest.
Original size 3600x6400 (9:16)
Textures are from Stock.XCHNG ('no usage restrictions') and the border is a Resurgere creation.
I will submit the second image shortly...
PS I made a truism of my own:
"If you must project your thoughts on the side of a building make sure they are not the thoughts of a dickhead."
Basically most of her statements are either totally stupid or bleeding obvious, a lot of them contredict also, i.e.
"LABOR IS A LIFE-DESTROYING ACTIVITY"
and
"MANUAL LABOR CAN BE REFRESHING AND WHOLESOME"
Some arn't even of her own creation, i.e.
"SOME STONES ARE BETTER LEFT UNTURNED"

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
